Cycling and biking in Merano, Lagundo and surrounding area

Lagundo and the region around Merano offer ideal bike tours for everyone.

In the valley the paths run gently between orchards. Very popular is a cycling tour on the Roman trade route Via Claudia Augusta from Malles to Merano. The good thing about this: you take the train to Malles and then cycle on level ground or gently downhill back to Lagundo. The cycle path continues southwards to Bolzano, to Lago di Caldaro and on to Lake Garda. From the South, too, the train takes you back to Lagundo.

Racing cyclists take to the pass routes. From Merano you cycle to Val Passiria and then up to Giovo Pass. Return to Lagundo via Vipiteno, route 99 to Bolzano and the cycle path Bolzano-Merano. The Stelvio Pass road is the highest pass road in Italy and a challenge with over 48 hairpin bends.

Mountain bikers conquer the terrain! Monte Tramontana benefits from 9 different MTB trails.
